6 month contract until March 2011
Role Objective:
To plan a fleet of (12) vehicles, optimizing cost performance whilst
achieving an ‘on time in full’ delivery service.
Key Activities:
1. To achieve the cost effective, timely and efficient distribution of products for all customers.
2. Delivering a plan from order capture to delivery within strict time frames.
3. Communicate and provide direction and support to HGV driver team.
4. Manage and process relevant documentation and reports to meet customer, internal and legislative demands.
5. Ability and experience of working with third party sub-contractor hauliers ensuring they deliver and meet agreed service levels.
6. Communicate effectively with all sites and company departments to ensure operational continuity.
7. To work within all legislative guidelines and rules.
Person Specification:
Qualification: CPC qualified, Certificate/Diploma in transport logistics or similar.
Experience: Worked in a busy and diverse transport environment, Worked in a customer and deadline focused environment.
Knowledge & Skills: Excellent planning and organizational skills, Good grasp on Devon and Cornwall geography, Understands Supply Chain Management, Strong Customer Service Skills, Strong Communication and Influencing Skills. |
